Abstract Artform

While some of my works are thought out, planned and executed with a particular look in mind, others (Like this one) just happen through experimentation. What image do you see? Does it invoke any reaction? What does it remind you of? Sometimes it is best to let the observer figure their own answer out. Any answer is correct.

Colour Explosions!

Alcohol inks really come into their own with how vibrant they are. The brightness and intesity of the colours is incredible, but there is also a texture to them which gives an extra layer of depth, depending on how much you apply.

Inspired By Space

Many of my works are inspired by galaxies, nebulars, and many of the colourful images from spaceb by telescopes and satelites. This is where having an airbrush with constant flow is really useful, and makes for some interesting patterns.

Mediums

Here you can find my artworks painted on yupo, photo slates, and any other surface I can get inks to stick to. The bread and butter material for me and most people painting with alcohol inks is yupo, but as I have found you can pretty much paint on whatever you want.

My yupo works are mounted in a plain frame as not to distract from the art, but the real standout feature is the use of Artglass, which is UV resistant and reduces glare on the images. The colours also pop that bit more when framed in this way too.

I have also found painting on sublimation slates and coasters works particularly well and makes for an alternative way to display my artworks. These are coted with several layers of varnish and a UV protective coat.

I do also have pottery work that I have made with my own hands, fired, and painted after. I have another page dedicated to that work.
